Empowering those with special needs...enriching the lives of all children.

This unique new camp program for ages 5 to 7 is offered in one-week sessions throughout the summer, and has an 'animals and nature' theme.

Farm Discovery Camp Activities

Animal Care and Horse Activities...

Horses are a big part of all Sunrise programs. Children enrolled in the Farm Discovery Camp will spend time every day with our donkey, miniature horses, alpacas and ponies, learning how to groom and care for them. They will also have the opportunity to experience a horse-drawn wagon ride and pony rides.

Nature Programs...

Different themes each day will introduce campers to the natural world around them and provide opportunities for hands-on learning through activities such as insect safaris, nature hikes, related crafts and outdoor games. Our 102-acre farm provides many different sites for environmental learning.

Swimming...

Our beautiful 20 x 40 in-ground swimming pool provides opportunities to cool off during daily activities. All swimming activities are supervised by certified lifeguards.

Crafts, Sports and Games...

Daily activities include a variety of crafts, games and non-competitive sports, tailored to the age and ability level of each group of campers with an emphasis on teamwork.  Theme days, outdoor games and visits to the accessible Warren Milas Playground (right here at Sunrise) are just some of the many fun daily activities at Farm Discovery Camp.

Theme Days...

Wednesdays are a special day at Sunrise, with fun themes and exciting team games, enabling children from both Farm Discovery and Riding camps to interact and play together.   Wednesday programs often include special guest visitors, horse-drawn wagon rides and swimming.

Christian Camp Programs...

Our small camp creates a family atmosphere where teamwork and respect for others are emphasized. Two of the four sessions are Christian Camps, where Bible verses, Christian children’s stories and songs are incorporated into the values education that is part of every session of Camp Sunrise.  Session 2A, 2B, 4A and 4B are 2011 Christian camp sessions.
